Directions: For each tablespoon of herbs, add 1 cup of boiling water. Cover and steep for 10-15 minutes before drinking. Always pour water over herbal tea, do not boil botanicals when making tea.
Ingredients: Organic lemon verbena, orange peel, lemongrass, lemon balm, oats straw, rose hips, skullcap
•Lemon verbena (Aloysia citrodora): is a perennial shrub in the Verbenaceae family. commonly used to relieve the symptoms of colds including chills, fever, and congestion. Lemon verbena contains chemicals that kill mites and bacteria, as well as chemicals that may reduce swelling (inflammation) and cause sleepiness.
•Orange Peels: Essential oils from orange peels are sedative in nature so can be used to calm nerves and induce sleep. Orange peels in our tea is used for uplifting your mood and driving away insomnia.
•Lemongrass(Cymbopogon): helps regulate sleep cycles, leading to improved sleep even over longer periods of time. Scientists believe these sleep aids can be attributed to the release of serotonin and sedative effects of the lemongrass plant leaves. Containing iron, calcium, and vitamin C. Iron is an essential component of hemoglobin, a vital substance that transfers oxygen from your lungs to your blood. Lemongrass contains quercetin, a flavonoid known for having antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. Quercetin reduces inflammation, which inhibits cancer cell growth and prevents heart disease by reducing cholesterol.
•Lemon balm(Melissa officinalis): which is also referred to as apiatrum, balm mint, sweet balm, bee’s leaf, honey plant, and labiates, is a perennial herb in the mint family (Lamiaceae). It is both antiviral and rich in antioxidants, considered a calming herb. Used to reduce stress and anxiety, promote sleep, improve appetite, and ease pain and discomfort from indigestion(including gas and bloating, as well as colic).
•Oatstraw (Avena Sativa): this entire plant, from top to bottom, is rich in minerals and trace nutrients like silica, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, calcium and vitamin B. Oatstraw also moistens the glands, eases anxiety, and soothes the nerves.
•Rosehip(Rosa Canina l.): is part of the fruit that grows on the blossom of a wild rose called Rosa canina. Rosehips are packed full of vitamin C, E and B, and other antioxidants and minerals. They also contain a substance that fights inflammation. Also assisting with:
•Lowering blood sugar levels and help treat diabetes
•Lowering blood pressure
•Reversing obesity related to a high-fat diet
•Skullcap(Scutellaria): A genus of flowering plants in the mint family. Known to positively impact mood and reduce anxiety by stimulating gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that helps calm nerves. Notably, this plant was used in traditional medicine practices as a sedative and treatment for conditions like insomnia and anxiety. Also assisting with hearth health, contains anti-inflammatory and anti cancer compounds, and has antibacterial and antiviral effects.
